Refund Policy

1. Introduction
At The Barking Cat, a partnership firm registered in India, we want you to be happy with what you order from us. This Refund Policy explains how returns, exchanges and refunds work, and applies to all orders placed on www.thebarkingcat.com. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
2. Order cancellation before dispatch
You may cancel your order at any time before it has been dispatched, for any reason, and receive a full refund including any shipping charges paid. To cancel an order, email us at contact@thebarkingcat.in with your order number as soon as possible. Once an order has been dispatched, it can no longer be cancelled and instead falls under the return process described below.
3. Returns and exchanges after delivery
You may request a return or exchange within 14 days of delivery if the product has a manufacturing defect, or if it does not fit correctly or you would like a different size or style. To start a return or exchange, email contact@thebarkingcat.in with your order number, the reason for the return, and clear photographs if you are reporting a defect. We will confirm whether your request is approved and share the next steps, including the return address. Items must be returned unworn, unwashed, with all original tags attached, and in the condition they were delivered in. We reserve the right to decline a return that does not meet these conditions.
4. Return shipping costs
Who pays for return shipping depends on the reason for the return and your location.
• Domestic order, manufacturing defect: The Barking Cat covers return shipping.
• Domestic order, fit or size issue: The Barking Cat covers return shipping.
• International order, manufacturing defect: The Barking Cat covers return shipping.
• International order, fit or size issue: the customer covers return shipping.
5. What is refunded
Once your return is received and inspected, we will process your refund to your original payment method. Please note that the original shipping charge you paid at checkout is not refundable, except where required under the statutory rights described in Section 7 below for customers in the European Union.
6. Refund timeline
Refunds are processed within 7 to 10 working days of your return being approved and received by us. Once processed, it may take a few additional business days for the amount to reflect in your account, depending on your bank or payment provider.
7. Additional rights for customers in the European Union
If you are ordering from within the European Union, you have a statutory right of withdrawal in addition to the return policy above. You may notify us of your wish to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving your order, for any reason, without needing to explain why. Once you have notified us, you then have a further 14 days to send the item back to us. If you exercise this statutory right, we will refund the price you paid for the product along with the cost of standard shipping you paid at checkout. If you chose a faster or premium delivery option, we will only refund the equivalent cost of our standard delivery option. Return shipping costs for a statutory withdrawal are payable by you, unless the product is defective, in which case Section 4 above applies and we will cover the cost. This right is in addition to, and does not replace, your right to a refund or exchange for a manufacturing defect or fit issue under Sections 3 and 4 above.

9. Governing law
This Refund Policy is governed by the laws of India and, subject to the additional statutory rights described in Section 7 for customers in the European Union, and any other mandatory consumer protection rights applicable in your own country of residence.
